Much like the owner of the bicycle in the photo, I haven’t written in this blog in a while. At least the bicyclist has a good excuse, the bike is locked up next to a bar. After a few drinks, you forget where you put your bike. After a few more, you forget you ever had a bike. I don’t have such a good excuse. I’ve just been living my life and trying to run my eBay business.
My blog used to be the front page of Johnny-Sells.com. Then I discovered that a static site might tell customers more about the store than the blog did. We sell clothes, shoes and accessories for women and men. The chatty blog posts may not have not conveyed that message as well as I would have liked. So I changed it. I was so happy with the update that I neglected the blog and all the wonderful readers who faithfully read it. For this, I truly apologize.
When you run your own business, there’s always a fire to put out, so to speak. It’s easy to get distracted and not follow through on the things you’ve been doing that aren’t crying out for attention. This blog is one of those things that got pushed down the list of priorities. But I’m proud of it. I’ve been writing it for a number of years and some of the posts are pretty interesting (if I do say so myself) So, if for no other reason, I promise to keep at it so that those past posts are available to my devoted public.
Speaking of one of those fires that needs to be put out, I’ve got to go wrap and ship a cowboy hat. I love cowboy hats and cowboy boots. Considering the fact that I’ve always lived in a big city, there’s a part of me that feels attached to the old west, for some reason. My cousin Debbie is like that, too. She and her husband even learned to do the Texas Two Step dance a few years ago. I’d do that too, but I’ve got two left feet.
So, once again, sorry about the absence of this blog for a while. I promise to get back to it regularly. In the meantime, click here for my favorite song about cowboy boots. Yee Haw, Pardner!
